Cherlnell Lane

Cherlnell Lane is a roaring fire under a cool demeanor, with a kind soul that she shares authentically in hopes of healing the world. As a writer, poetic- storyteller, author, teacher, speaker, advocate, and entrepreneur, Cherlnell gives back by creating healing and enlightening spaces, works, and experiences. She works to empower, advocate, and educate people, especially Black Women and Girls, through the power of words.

Despite Lane's scars: sexual assault, domestic abuse, mental illness, narcolepsy, fibromyalgia, and other health issues, she continues to overcome. Cherlnell uses her experiences, talents, and passion for words to achieve her life's mission of helping others. Her company, Cherlnell Lane, LLC does just that. Lane believes that if you are ever feeling overwhelmed you can get through it. Just remember to... Use Your Words.

Lane created "Writing Through It Workshops'' (WTIWorkshops) and "Healing Through It Summits” (HTISummits). These workshops, courses, or retreats help people Reveal, Deal, and Heal from Negativity and Trauma while encouraging them to Recognize and Commemorate Strengths and Positive Experiences. WTIWorkshops and HTISummits are taught on a plethora of topics in areas such as trauma, mental health, sexual assault, empowerment, intimacy, domestic violence, and the list continues to grow.

Lane also travels around Chicagoland as a Poet, Speaker, and Performer. She uses her gift of emotional, poetic-storytelling to speak for the ones who have not been heard. Love, the black experience, racism, abuse (sexual and domestic), depression, the beauty and strength of Black People are just some of her amazing themes. Cherlnell has performed and/or taught workshops with the Black Mental Wellness Expo, Black Lives Matter Chicago Conference, Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, National Poetry Slam, and Surviving The Mic just to name a few.

Her mission, vision, and drive have been recognized. Last year Cherlnell was honored with a Melanated Queen Award and was the recipient of the "Gratitude For Black Girls Business Grant". Lane is brave enough to share her truth to help others, strong enough to speak up for them, and kind enough to bare her soul to help them heal.

Baring my soul to heal yours,
